We are reaching out as we would like to gather questions to pose to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for our annual CRA Roundtable. We are working together with CPA Canada and the other CPA Provincial Bodies to come up with a universal list of questions to submit to the CRA as a profession. We hope that this process will help ensure consistency and efficiency across the country, both on our end, as well as CRA’s.

Our plan is for all provincial bodies to canvas their members for questions and each province will submit the top questions to CPA Canada. CPA Canada will review, prioritize and consolidate all questions received before sending to the CRA.

Please consider the following guidelines from the CRA as you consider potential questions to raise:

  • Enquiries should be generic and not account-specific
  • Current and of general interest
  • Affecting a broad number of taxpayers (business or Individual) either nationally or specific to a region
  • Limit questions of an interpretive nature
  • Should not be in reference to a past ruling, or a matter that is (or has been) before the courts

CRA has requested we send our final questions to them for this year by late-June 2025. As such we hope to have your input to us by May 23, 2025.

CRA will provide full, bilingual responses to the questions submitted by Fall 2025. The questions and answers will be posted on CPA Canada’s website and provided to each participating Provincial Body for member distribution.

We look forward to receiving your questions at [email protected]. Thank you for your time and consideration.
